Gary began composing and singing at school and excelled in these vocations, such that he was accepted to read music at Jesus College, Cambridge. There he joined the college choirs and branched out into arranging and conducting, including his own ensemble, the Jesus Singers. Gary also conducted both stage shows and concerts, including the college orchestra and a production of ‘Yeoman of the Guard’ at the Harrogate festival (2016). During this time he also composed his first large scale work, music for the stage show ‘The Duchess of Malfi’ in 2016, and in the same year collaborated on live film score projects with Naomi Woo and Bertie Baigent. After graduating, Gary began studying composition at the Royal Academy of Music, and began freelancing in London with ensembles including the London Philharmonic Choir, The Fisher Consort, and the Iken Scholars. Gary also has a keen interest in tutoring, especially music theory, and is a registered tutor at Bonas MacFarlane
